We are in search of a Senior Staff Accountant to lead accounting efforts including performing general ledger functions such as preparing and reviewing journal entries, generating timely financial management reports and reconciliations while working with internal and external stakeholders. This position will be accountable for delivery of financial analysis, while identifying areas for process improvements.

- Assume responsibility for month-end and year-end close activities including timely completion of 70+ bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform ongoing review of the company’s trial balance to ensure that all balance sheet account reconciliations are performed, and any reconciling items are addressed in timely manner
- Coordinate resolution of identified items from reconciliations, with support from the team, including calls, emails, and internal escalations as required for problem accounts
- Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Financial analytics of current period\year to prior year and budget variances
- Financial analytics to assist divisions in growing their business
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Project and capital expenditure reporting
- Work with accounting team on the transition to Workday
Strategic:
- Leverage technology to automate and streamline processes and reporting
- Interpret and implement general accounting procedures for new products and lines of business for incorporation into financial management reporting structures
- Liaison with accounting peers regarding changes in technology platforms and business partners
- Collaborate with accounting staff across the wider Tokio Marine enterprise
- Assist with forecasting and rolling forecasting
- Assist with budgeting the responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance with professional designation preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the organization
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with accounting system implementation preferred
- ERP experience preferably Workday
